Birthdays are fun – from the gleefully smashed cake of baby birthdays to memories of balloons, cake, and whatever food YOU picked, with absolutely no siblings allowed to weigh in.
Raucous nights on the town celebrating with friends soon morph to a nice dinner with a glass of wine or trips with those we hold dearest. For those who have faced cancer and other illnesses, they can be a celebration of victories won, milestones reached.
In today’s Facebook Era, birthdays have morphed again, with friends from all points of your life’s journey checking in to say hi and send good wishes (or a few emojis!).
This year, we hope you’ll use your celebration to help. Please consider hosting a Facebook Fundraiser for Cancer Hope Network in honor of your special day. It’s a chance to raise money for a great cause – and to introduce friends and relatives to the hope our Support Volunteers offer.
The process is simple.
- Visit https://www.facebook.com/fund/CancerHopeNet/ and click the “Raise Money” tab.
- Tell your loved ones why supporting CHN is important to you. (Did a Support Volunteer comfort you during your own treatment? Do you share hope and inspiration as a volunteer? Perhaps you’d like to raise money in honor of a loved one fighting cancer. The reasons are up to you!)
- Set your goal (Last year’s fundraisers averaged 166% of their goal on behalf of CHN!) and start sharing.
- Say thank you!!!
Thanks to the time you shared and the donations you made and raised, we created more than 2000 match conversations last year. Together, we’ll make even more this year, filling more birthdays with hope and inspiration and ensuring that patients and caregivers can talk with someone who’s been there.
