Vanessa and Janie are best friends… until a devastating diagnosis forces them to consider what that friendship means and how much it matters. The Lucky Ones by Lia Romeo is “an exploration of aging, mortality, and the value and complexity of female friendship.”

ticket buttonThe play is making its debut run at Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre in Summit from September 26-October 13. On Sunday, October 6, a portion of show proceeds will be donated to support Cancer Hope Network. CHN trains cancer survivors and caregivers as Support Volunteers who provide emotional peer support for cancer patients and their loved ones.

“Dreamcatcher is thrilled to be donating a portion of all ticket sales on October 6 to Cancer Hope Network while presenting Lia Romeo’s play about the realities facing both patients and their loved ones,” said Dreamcatcher Artistic Director Laura Ekstrand. “It is always our goal to tell stories that are relevant to our audiences, and to more deeply understand our common experience of being human.”

Following the performance, CHN Support Volunteers and staff will take part in the post-matinee talkback.

The performance will be held are at Oakes Center, located at 120 Morris Avenue in Summit. Parking is available in the lot behind the theatre at 20 Ashwood Avenue and on the street surrounding the theatre. The facility is wheelchair accessible. Assistive listening devices for patrons who are hearing impaired and advance large print scripts are available for free by prior arrangement.
